Murree Hills

Murree, also known as “The Queen of Mountains”, is a most popular mountain resort town located in the Galyat region of the “Pir Panjal” Range, within the Rawalpindi District of Punjab, Pakistan. It forms the outskirts of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area, and is about 30 kilometers northeast of Islamabad. It has average altitude of 2,291 metres.  During British Raj, first ever building was a sanatorium for British troops built in 1851.  Later decades, it slowly emerged as a hill station for British people working in civil and military.   Weather in Murree remains pleasant most of the year except December-March where heavy snowfall occurs and the temperature falls down to -1 degree.  The average temperature in Murree is 15 degrees from April to October which is ideal for the tourists visiting from warm areas of the country and abroad.

A large number of the tourists visit Murree whole the year.  Murree can be reached by road via Islamabad-Murree Express Way or old road easily.  On rented car from Islamabad one can reach Murree in just 45 minutes.  Variety of public & private transport is also available to travel to Murree and surrounding areas.

There are public and private guest houses along with plenty of hotels of medium and luxury range, including Pearl Continental Bhurban, are available in Murree.

A stroll on the Mall Road of Murree, from Pindi Point to Kashmir point or vice versa, is an essential ritual for everyone visiting Murree. Tourists often found themselves browsing the colourful shops and arcades of Murree Mall Road, selling just about everything one can imagine.   Chairlifts are in Ayubia, Pindi point, and Patriata provide a breathtaking view of the Murree Hills and surrounding areas. Children prefer spending time in SOZO Water Park in summer season.

Natiagali

Nathia Gali   is a mountain resort town or hill station in Abbottabad District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is located at the centre of the Galyat range, where several hill-stations are situated, closely connected to each other, and with their names mostly ending in ‘Gali’. Nathiagali is known for its scenic beauty, hiking tracks and pleasant weather, which is much cooler than the rest of the Galyat due to it being at a greater altitude. It is situated 32 kilometers at one hour’s drive away from both Murree and Abbottabad, lying midway between these two places.   The Government of KP Province has taken special consistent measures to uplift the area and to make it more tourists friendly.

The town is connected to Abbottabad and Murree by Nathiagali road. Public transport runs daily from Abbottabad and Rawalpindi to Nathiagali.   Between December to January, heavy snowfall can occur in this area and the road leading to Nathiagali is sometimes blocked due to heavy snow.

During the summer, Nathia Gali is relatively popular amongst tourists due to its scenic beauty, lush green environments and proximity of hill covered with pine trees  Nathiagali is known for a beautiful trek that leads to Thandiani that passes through Dagri naka.   Located close by, Ayubia National Park is also one of the spots here that tourists and nature lovers often visit.  Ayubia has become the most important spot in the Galliat after Nathia gali. In 1984 an area of 1,684 hectares of mountain forest was declared as a national park, with the aim of preserving the beautiful forest and biodiversity.

Patriata

 Patriata also known as New Murree is a hill station in northern Punjab, Pakistan. It is situated 15 kilometers   south-east of Murree hill.   Patriata is located in Murree Tehsil which is a subdivision of Rawalpindi District. It is the highest point in the area and the hills stand 2,300 meters above sea level.    Besides its cool weather, the gondola chair lift & cable car system is a major tourist’ attraction that allow visitors to access the highest point of the valley.   7 km long gondola chair lift & cable car system journey is memorable of life time. The area is heavily forested and there are many monkeys and leopards are occasionally seen in the area.  The large tourist presence in Murree also makes Pathriata a more attractive hub for many.  During winter complete area is covered under snow.

Bhurban

Bhurban is situated at a distance of 13 kilometers from Murree, one of the main roads leading to Azad Kashmir.     Bhurban became the most favourite tourist spot in Murree because of its lush green landscapes along with a pleasant environment that is full of calmness. Majority of local and foreign tourists visit the Bhurban Golf Course which is unique in the world and entry is open to everyone.   The lavish amenities of the Golf Course with enchanting landscapes are always preferable for the visitor.  Walking on greens of the golf course or littering the area is prohibited.   There are a number of guest houses situated next to the Golf Course.  However,  if one stays in luxurious Hotel Pearl Continental then the treat is double.
